For many years now I have been drawing using charcoal and graphite and have found that it is the technique that suits me the best.

I have attended a one-year education at "Grundskolan för konstnärlig utbildning", Hagsätra. Other than that I am self taught.

Many objects portrayed in my artwork exist everywhere and nowhere. With the help of a camera I take pictures of various objects and environments that I puzzle together and make my own compositions of, maybe I complement with a tree outside of the kitchen window.

My earlier charcoal drawings were made on traditional, colored charcoal drawing paper, so called Ingres paper. Now I use a fine-granular Arches aquarel paper 300 gr, partly because of the torn sides, but also because the finished drawing does not always need to be fixed. Depending on how you draw and how the drawings are stored should be noted!

I have at a few occasions been asked the question: What do I want to say with my pictures?

I will not delve into any deeper analysis, but usually respond that I want to say precicely what the motives portray, after that it is up to each and every one to make their own interpretation!

Inspiration is what guides my creating, it can come at any time, during the day or at night, sometimes long periods can pass before i undertake anything new.

I do not have a workshop, instead my drawings are made home at the kitchen table, mostly at night, with Zorro the cat as my main supporter!

I wish that my pictures will convey something to the viewer.

Regards, Lars
